Local Breweries

After a long day of hiking, biking, or skiing we love to kick back and enjoy a great craft beer. We’ve tried all the breweries in the valley and are happy to share our favorite spots to enjoy a frosty pint.

Whitefish, MT

Relaxed pub in an iconic Whitefish downtown landmark. Home of the Jeremiah Johnson brewery, they serve up delicious staples as well as rotating seasonal brews.

While the beer is always good, the food is excellent and not your average pub fare. We love their Chicken Karaage, Margarita Pizza, Smash Burger, and Italian Panuozzo.

The building itself is a great place hang out, with 3 stories including balconies and a rooftop seating area, you get a incredible views of downtown Whitefish, Big Mountain, and even the west entrance of Glacier Park between Columbia Mountain and Teakettle.

If you’re into sports Blackstar is a great place to catch a game, they have many TVs and a projector throughout the restaurant.

Columbia Falls, MT

One of the best burgers in the Valley. We can’t get enough of the Jamm burger when it’s available.

The beers are on the more eclectic side and frequently rotate but we’re a big fan of their Porter.

Backslope is also one of our favorites for how integrated into the Columbia Falls community they are. They are family owned and you can find them in the kitchen or the brewery on any given day. They also take good care of their employees and employ many local high schoolers.

Whitefish, MT

Best outdoor area for dogs and groups! On any given day you’re likely to find multi-generational families and their dogs relaxing in the grass enjoying a beautiful Montana day.

Bonsai is a quirky local spot in Whitefish where you’re likely to find people grabbing a beer and relaxing after a long day hiking, biking, or skiing on the mountain.

Other than Bayern in Missoula, Bonsai is our favorite beer in the valley. Their beers are on the more experimental microbrew spectrum so be ready for non-standard brews.
