Who we are
Off-grid living is what we know best — wood heat, well water, and solar power. It's a life that teaches you to pay attention: to the weather, to the water, to what you actually need and what you don't. We spend our money at the local businesses we'd send a guest to — because they're the ones we'd send a guest to. We eat well. We read the river before we fish it. And most nights end the same way, laughing around the fire.
About the cabins
Glacier's Edge is five cabins in Columbia Falls, Montana, just outside the West Entrance of Glacier National Park. Glacier Park International Airport (FCA) is fifteen minutes away. Whitefish, Kalispell, and Bigfork are each within twenty-five minutes. We've spent enough time in this corner of the valley to know what works — hiking in Glacier, the trails that are empty when the popular ones are full, where the locals eat, what's open in October, what to do during hunting season. We're not concierges and we don't try to plan your trip. But if you ask for a recommendation, we have one.
How we run the cabins
Three things we don't compromise on: clean cabins, fast email response, and prices that aren't padded. The cabins are cleaned between every stay. Email is answered within a day, usually within an hour during waking hours in Mountain time, by one of us. The price you see when you book direct is the price you pay — no baked in service fee, no surprise total at checkout. The 7 to 12 percent you save by booking direct is the difference between the platform's cut and ours.
